WEB DESIGN
UI DESIGN

Williams-Sonoma is a high-end retailer for all things kitchen & home. I worked on multiple projects over the course of 5 years including designing a new, responsive template layout for the homepage and master navigation interface to showcase all the shoppable collections, recipes and content more visually. The challenge was to continuously push the brand forward while adhering to a strict set of brand style guidelines.

Global Navigation Before & After UI Design:

My challenge was to update outdated navigation that was too busy, condensed, and had a lot of colors going on. I streamlined the color palette, updated typography to be more modern and legible, and utilized a tab system for the top navigation to help with white space, giving everything the proper white space it deserved.

Additionally, I designed multiple interior content pages for the brand, which assisted in driving both sales for WS and promoting high-profile partnerships throughout the year. This included their annual No Kid Hungry Campaign, Bottlerock Napa Concert Series, Seasonal content, Gift of the Day series, and Williams-Sonoma Wine Club updates. Many of these designs were utilized across platforms for promotional emails and visual signage.

Recipe Section Before & After UI Design:

The issue here was again, updating the recipe section of the website to be more modern, utilize space better (moving into a fully responsive platform) and overall increase the beautiful visuals available to us. LEFT: Recipe Search Landing Page started as a boring form field, I breathed some life into it by adding gorgeous visual backgrounds and thumbnails to give the user a better overall aesthetic experience. RIGHT: Recipe Detail Page started as a lot of information on a relatively small amount of real estate. I removed the left navigation here after testing showed low interaction, increased font and image size and rearranged information order to get Ingredients and Directions equally higher on the page, allowing the shoppable links and wine pairing to be secondary information.
